Description

Ask any Racer or Racing Enthusiast what PCI means and they will tell you, it means Quality, Service and Support. You won’t find a higher quality part, PCI has been the innovator in racing communications since 1972. As racers ourselves, we understand there is no compromise in race components.

PCI began in 1972 when Bob Steinberger put communications in the vehicles of Bill Stroppe, Joe MacPherson and Walker Evans. At the 1974 Mint 400, he sent up three weather balloons with five hundred feet of coax attached and the first successful radio relay from a pit was made. It is believed that it was Joe MacPherson, who couldn’t remember his name, dubbed him “Weatherman” on the radio. The rest is history and Bob’s iconic status has been reached through nearly half a century of work with the communications company he founded, PCI Race Radios. Bob passed away in 2017, handing over the torch to his son Scott Steinberger who is still known as the Weatherman today providing radio relay to SCORE racers in Baja.

Scott Steinberger has been racing since 1983. From Mini-Mag, Class 7, Protruck to Trophy Truck, he understands racing and the importance of quality products to get you to the finish line. Scott’s racing experience combined with decades of engineering the products we sell, allows us to develop and support products the competition only dreams about. Ask anyone about their PCI system in their race car, boat or UTV, they will all tell you it’s a quality product that helps get them to the finish line and enjoy their time in the desert.

PCI prides itself on a dedicated staff of Off-Road enthusiasts that eat, sleep, live and breathe this stuff. We are Racing and Desert Enthusiasts. When you call us and ask us about a product, we can give you hands on recommendations because it’s what we use on our Dirt Bikes, Quads, Race Cars, Trucks, Raptors, RZR’s, Maverick’s and Boats. We are dedicated to this industry and generously support every sanctioning body, land use advocate group and racer to the best of our ability. What kind of products does PCI Race Radios sell?

We specialize in off-road racing and motorsport communications and navigation gear, including helmets, headsets and intercoms, two-way radios, GPS and mounting hardware, wiring kits and accessories.

Where is PCI Race Radios located and what are your hours?

Our main headquarters is at 6185 Phyllis Drive, Cypress, CA 90630 (United States). Our desk phone is 562-427-8177. We are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm (Pacific Time).

How can I get help with installation, wiring or product support?

We provide installation guides, wiring diagrams and user-manuals for many of our products. For example our SatComm system manual includes “General FAQ”, “Handset FAQ” and “Antenna FAQ” sections.

What is your return / warranty policy?

Warranty coverage varies depending on the product. For example, the SatComm system has a 12-month warranty. Returns for warranty must go to the manufacturer; we cannot always handle onsite warranty claims at race events.

How do I choose the right radio, intercom or comms system for my vehicle?

We recommend that you consider your vehicle type (UTV, SXS, single-seat), driver/co-driver setup (how many headsets), wiring accessibility, mounting space, and terrain (desert vs. track). We also provide “Tech Talk” blog posts that help choose the best product for off-road/race use.

How should I mount my antenna for best performance?

ntenna placement is critical. Mount the antenna high and central in the vehicle, with a clear view of the sky (for SatComm systems). Avoid mounting near large metal structures, avoid coiling coax cables, keep the antenna away from ignition/engine noise.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major payment methods including American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Can I find a dealer near me?

Yes, you can use the “Find a PCI Dealer” link on our website to locate authorized dealers.

What should I do if my system fails just before a race?

We strongly recommend testing your system well ahead of race day (at least 7 days prior, 10 if you had suspended service) so we have time to assist. If the system fails during a race and the issue is outside warranty or repairable only by the manufacturer, you may have to purchase replacement parts on-site.
