Wedding Day Sparklers

Yes, our sparklers are designed for wedding events and are low-smoke (or “smokeless”) so they work well for indoor receptions or venues with minimal haze.

That said, you should still check with your venue about fire or pyrotechnics regulations before using them.

It depends on your guest count and how many guests you want participating. As a rule of thumb: if you have 100 guests and you want everyone to hold one sparkler at the send-off, you’ll need ~100 sparklers.
Since we carry multiple lengths (20” vs 36”) you’ll also want to consider how long you want the spark to last (photos may benefit from longer ones) and how the venue handles fire/sparkler regulations.

• The 20 inch is a good standard size for general use and send-offs.

• The 36 inch is ideal when you want dramatic photos (because the longer burn time and length produce a larger “sparkle trail”) or when the venue is larger / outdoor space is bigger.

Yes, because sparklers involve flame and sparks, it’s important to check with your venue about:

• Fire-code and local regulations (some venues may prohibit open flame or require a fire marshal)

• Whether indoor use is permitted (even if low-smoke, some venues won’t allow it)

• Whether you need to clear it in your contract or with venue staff
  Also, state or local laws regarding fireworks or sparklers may apply, it’s best to consult local regulations. (We provide some guidance on “state fireworks laws” on our site.)

Here are some tips:

• Hand them to guests just before the send-off, and light them right as the couple begins to leave.

• For photos: have guests hold sparklers in the background while the couple is in the foreground, or have the couple draw shapes (heart, word “love”, etc) with the sparkler in a long exposure.

• Choose a longer burn time sparker (e.g. 36″) if you’ll be capturing a photo/longer moment.

• Make sure you have safe lighting/outdoor space if it’s outside, and a bucket of water or sand for disposal.
